1st Book in My Series

I am proud to announce my work on Appocalypse. It is my first book that isn't a children's book and will be published. I will give you the prologue of the book and let you tell me what you think of it. So without any more of my talking here is the prologue:

It started hundreds of years ago in the year 2014. Now the year is 2900 and we still remember it vividly because we don’t live on earth anymore. Earth is still infected with the disease, if that’s what scientists would call it. It took people over completely, there was no turning back once you got it, and there was no cure for it.
We now live on Planet 8274 in Galaxy 438, past the Andromeda Galaxy. We moved as far away from Earth as possible. We had to test the whole population of Earth to be sure they didn’t have the disease. If they had the disease we put them outside and left them behind. By the way my name is Zilck, my parents tried to think of a name that wasn’t used on Earth. Nobody is allowed to have a name that was used on Earth. Everybody that had an Earth name had to get a new one. They wanted nothing to do with Earth.
Back to the disease now, once you were infected it just got worse. You got infected from using a certain application on any electronic device, it scanned you and injected you with the right dosage of the disease to effect you, then it scanned you again and if you weren’t infected it injected you again. That continued until you were infected with the disease. The surface of Planet 8274 is like a worldwide desert except a few water sources, one of which we built our facility near. We pump the water in from the surface, it is unlimited because on this planet rain clouds only develop above water sources. We have to filter the water before we drink it because the wildlife doesn’t use it like we do, to them it is their bathroom. I am currently 16 Planet 8274 years old.

  1. The people of 8724 still remember Earth vividly, even though no one among them has seen it for over 800 years? Earth in 2014 had the technology and resources to send 100% of the non-infected population more than 2.5 million light years away, even during a global crisis which must have had devastating economic consequences? Mobile devices (again, in just one year from today) were equipped with hypodermic needles, with applications on these devices able to replicate and produce any compound to fill the needle before injecting you? Seems pretty sketchy to me... Perhaps the rulers of this planet have altered the true history of the people of 8274 for political reasons?

  2. I never said how many people were not infected. There are stories that everyone has heard from the elders. The devices had small needles, not like syringes, that were not visible if you weren't looking for them. The person that made the devices had the disease in the needles already.

  3. I am still confused about how this group of people were able to transport themselves and their supplies to a planet millions of LYs away. How could they move faster than the speed of light? Was their spaceship like the ship in Futurama, in which the ship stays still and simply moves the universe around it?

  4. It is supposed to be science fiction. It was like in that Avatar movie where everyone was just sleeping or something like that. And they were like that until they arrived on the planet. Other than that how do you like it?

  5. It's not too bad. I don't think the prologue is any indication of what the story will be like, since there doesn't seem to be any conflict introduced here, just a vague memory of past events + the name and age of the character. I'll give you a better answer once you post the first chapter.

P.S. I am a pretty tough reader for science fiction, I don't really like stories that are totally implausible.
